Extra Whips, Hold the Cream Cake and a Side of Rope

esinem blog
It seems an age ago that we were in Japan. Life has been hectic since I came back as I have found myself involved in co-organising the London Festival of the Art of Japanese Bondage.

This is going to be totally unique and we are getting international support and contributors. It will promote kinbaku as an artistic inspiration, a performance art in its own right and as a means of erotic communication, whilst sharing knowledge about it and its cultural context.

What with that, plus shows, forthcoming trips to Geneva and Barcelona and all the other aspects of trying to make a living in the world of rope, I haven't had a lot of time to write.

Last Exit from Ikebukuro

We went out in style on our final evening in Tokyo. After my last class with Osada Steve at Studio SIX, it was Gaijin Night at the Studio. At around 7, the Oz contingent appeared: Mark, Aleni and Lani from Sydney.

Steve opened the proceedings with some hot newaza with Aiko-chan, the lady with the amazing tiger back tattoo. As soon as he’d finished, he turned to me saying it was time for me to do a spot.

A hard act to follow. Hmm, no pressure! Anyway, I did a floor session with Electric Fairie, which Steve said was 100% for energy, if somewhat over-complicated.

Unfortunately, I missed Mark’s show as we had to leave for Arisue’s birthday party and we still had to grab something to eat before embarking on what promised to be a serious drinking session.

Cherry Blossoms Beckon -- Esinem Returning to Japan

esinem blog 2

girls2Electric Fairie and I are making plans again for a trip to Japan in time for hanami (cherry blossom viewing) and to have some more lessons with Osada Steve. Hopefully, we'll get the chance to catch a few other masters in action.

Electric Fairie is also known as Panda. I have the nickname of Tako (octopus) amongst some in Japan, allegedly on account of my bald head. Although, I hear there is an altogether less flattering slang meaning.

I won't go into that right now. I'm just happy to be able to get back to Japan in order to further my studies of the fine art of kinbaku -- oh, and to gorge myself on Korean BBQ once again with KabukiJoe in Okubo.

Zentai Meets Hentai Amidst Kinbaku Confusion

London calling!

Well, it's turning out to be an interesting month so far. I've just had a call from the unbelievably trendy iD magazine who want me to do some rope work on a male model for their forthcoming issue.

This comes straight after the collaboration with Manuel Vason, the favoured photographer of the body performance crew, for .Cent, which explores the idea of "the spaces in between" using zentai and a matching background. As you'll see if you check out his site, Manuel is a stunning photographer and has shot such notables as Franko B, Lee Adams, Ron Athey and Ernst Fischer. This issue will also include work by Araki, so I will be in exalted company.

Direct from London

Hello, everybody. I'd like to say how pleased I am to be helping KabukiJoe in this new endeavour. Knowing what I do of this dirty old (gentle)man's writings, I can see this being the place to keep your finger on the pulse of what's hot on the scene.

Firstly, let me introduce myself. I'm a bondage artist and teacher from London, a well-known figure on the scene...or maybe just notorious, since I think I am considered to be something of a "rigger in the woodpile" due to my outspoken and often mischievous posts on certain forums. I met KJ through Osada Steve on one of my trips to Japan to take kinbaku lessons and we have kept in touch since. I won't bore you with my full biography, but if you want to find out more, it's all on my site.
